Each template is made up of a number of bands and each band will normally have a number of components added to it, such as text, an equation or image.
There are several types of bands and each serves a different purpose. Some can be included multiple times on a template, others should only be used once.
The different band types are:
- Page Header - appears at the very top of every page
- Title - only appears on the first page after the page header (if used)
- Column Header - appears at the top of every page, below the page header and below the title on the first page if they are used
- Details - appears for each record of the query it is linked to
- Summary - appears at the very end of everything except for the page footer on the final page
- Page Footer - appears at the very bottom of every page
- Group Header - appears before each detail band it is linked to for each change in it's "Group By" field
- Group Footer - appears before each group header it is linked to, apart from the first one
- Child - appears after the band it is linked to
