This section shows the products which are kept in stock, the current stock level, the quantity allocated and the quantity on order. You can also do stock adjustments here.
For a product to be shown here, it needs to have its 'Product is Stocked' setting changed to 'Yes' in the
Products Setup section.
When a product is initially created, you can set its initial stock level. If you want to set its stock level afterwards, you need to alter it using a stock adjustment (see the
Stock Adjustments section).
Other than through stock adjustments, stock levels are altered through invoices and purchase orders. When a job is closed (an invoice created) the stock level of any products used in the invoice is decreased. When a purchase order is closed (the order is fully received in the Goods Receiving section) the stock level is increased by the amount of stock received.
When you open a Product in the Stock Control section, for each branch the following details are shown:
- Minimum - the minimum quantity which should be kept at each branch. This is set in the Products Setup section.
- On Hand - the total quantity currently held at the branch.
- Allocated - the quantity which has been allocated to open jobs.
- Available - the quantity on hand less the quantity allocated.
- Ordered - the quantity currently on order in purchase orders, yet to be received.
In the Stock Control list, a total of all branches is shown for the above quantities, excluding Minimum.
