Each branch can have multiple departments assigned to it. The departments are used in the scheduling section.
Whilst departments can be real departments within the branch/company, they can also be virtual departments which are more like phases in the branch/company production process. You can add as many departments for each branch as you like, but only those which are connected to a job are needed.
For example, departments within a branch, in order of process, might be:
- Sales - the order is taken and entered into the system
- Production - the order is worked on and completed
- Delivery - the order is delivered
- Accounts - the order is invoiced
Within a real department there may be different processes which can in turn be added as departments. In the example above, instead of Production, there could be 'Design', 'Printing' & 'Laminating' departments.
Within a job and within the Scheduling section, the job and it's sections can be moved between the departments.
Department- Branch - the branch the department belongs to.
- Department Name - the name/title of the department.
- Manager - the manager of the department.
- Use for Jobs - jobs can be scheduled to this department.
- Use for Employees - employees can be assigned to this department.
